ICC SYDNEY APPOINTS COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR

AUSTRALASIA - Samantha Taranto has been appointed as the International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) Communications Director, AEG Ogden has announced.

A senior communications and public relations professional, Taranto's 14 years of experience spans communications consulting and in-house corporate affairs with companies including AMP Capital, The GPT Group and Weber Shandwick.

Chief Executive Officer at ICC Sydney and AEG Ogden Group Conventions Director Geoff Donaghy says Taranto's appointment will continue to build the growing momentum and interest in ICC Sydney.

"Construction is now well underway and following the confirmation of Sibos in 2018, the world's largest financial conference, we are pleased to welcome such a seasoned communications professional to our executive team. Samantha brings a wealth of corporate, industry, government and community engagement experience to the role, having delivered award winning campaigns and communication strategies for large-scale development projects along the East Coast of Australia," he says.

Taranto, adds: "It is a great privilege to be a part of this major city-building project, which will attract expertise from an array of disciplines to Sydney and ultimately showcase our city to the world. I am delighted to be joining AEG Ogden, a globally recognised venue management brand, and the team set to open ICC Sydney in this unparalleled opportunity."

Opening in December 2016, ICC Sydney presents Australia's largest and first fully-integrated convention, exhibition and entertainment centre.
